At this moment of the NFL season, it looks like nobody can compete with the Baltimore Ravens. This team has gotten hot at the right time and will look to carry their momentum as the season winds down and we get ready for playoff football.
It was a record-setting year in many aspects. We saw growth in all areas of our business, and at this stage of our company's life, we don't see it slowing down anytime soon. So, what did we do?
Keeping with the dramatic film "based on real events" theme, this week is "The Blind Side."
YHZ – SFO – DFW – MCO – YHZ At this point, I’m pretty sure I know every major airport code in North America.
The end of the season is just around the corner, and there are plenty of teams fighting to clinch playoff positions. What makes the NFL playoffs one of the greatest spectacles in sports is that it is a one-game
I felt the need to write something around F1. Forgive me, as this article may be all over the place! I would say this has been a "snooze fest" for your casual fan. On the other hand, I think it's been an incredible year for Formula 1. This year, we've been blessed with the comeback of McLaren, which in turn is the return of Lando Norris on a podium. People honestly forget how FAST Lando Norris is… he may be the second fastest on the grid. We've also had the pleasure of watching an "incredible talent" in Oscar's Piastri make his debut this year. He exceeded my expectations and had a solid rookie year. (Winning a sprint is nothing to sneeze at).
My favourite kind of storytelling is shedding light on a person, place or thing that is underappreciated or unknown to most. The format of Hidden Figures—a scripted dramatic film based on actual events or people- is so vastly popular today.
Another week of the NFL season has passed, and that makes back-to-back losses for both the Chiefs and the Eagles. After seeing these two face off in last year's Super Bowl, many presumed we might see them run it back for a rematch.
It was the most exciting time to be a Blue Jays fan since the 1993 World Series win. For a painstaking 24-hour period, it was rumoured and confirmed (late to be retracted) that Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani was headed north to join the Toronto Blue Jays.
Initially, I wanted to watch "Sex Education" because of one of its lead actors, Asa Butterfield, as I've enjoyed many of his previous works.
We have been consuming content since the birth of humanity, but in the last century, that has changed and evolved rapidly. Humans love stories, and that starts when we are born. We
Probably the greatest individual honour in the NFL is to be declared the MVP when the season is all said and done.
It's taken me a while to write this post. The book took me only one day to get through. It was straightforward and easy to read in style, but the subject matter was hard to digest. Britney Spears, the Princess of Pop, sits down in this memoir and finally gets to tell her side of the story. Most know by now that Britney spent her entire 30s (13 years of her life, to be exact) in a conservatorship controlled by her father when she was forced to work gruelling hours, and make millions of dollars for the members of her family without having on say in any aspect of her life (including pregnancy as she was forced to have an IUD and by LAW was not allowed to remove it). She was manipulated and taken advantage of by the people who should have been there to protect her. And while I don't know how she can ever repair the relationships we had with all of her family (although I do see she has started to mend her relationship with her mother and brother), she has been a victim to an entire world, not just the Spears household. Several documentaries show how disrespected she was by the media, other stars, and friends. Go back and watch that Diane Sawyer interview if you're able, and you'd be appalled that a "respected journalist" would ask such low-brow, sexualized questions of a young girl. This was gaslighting and narrative-creating to the extreme. We turned this talented, kind young lady into a sex symbol and then vilified her for it, and in this book, reading her side of the story makes it all feel even more shameful. This book is poorly written. At first, I questioned why she wouldn't have gotten a ghostwriter. Still, honestly, after spending the majority of her life without a voice (ironic considering she's a singer, but you know what I mean), I get why she would want to be the one to write this herself. It is, at best, the equivalent of a tenth-grade essay - I mean no disrespect, I think she is brilliant; it's just hard to write when you're still so very much in the thick of the experience and not on the other side of it like you might believe. I compared this memoir and Matthew Perry's over the weekend. Matthew Perry wrote with a precise and painstaking awareness of who he was, what he had become and how he needed to get through it (extra sad to think about now that he has passed away). He was someone who had done the work and worked through his mental health issues and addictions and wrote about it in a frank way. Britney's memoir is a lot like Prince Harry's book "Spare" They both write as people who have already gotten through the hardship of their life and processed their grief and trauma - they write as if it's already done, not realizing that they are still in the thick of it. Which makes both reads, like the mindset, very immature. All I can hope for both Britney and Harry is that the book's writing process helps them identify the work that is still to come. This autobiography also made me hate Justin Timberlake. I know, I'm sorry. I realize he was a kid at the time, and I know I've only heard her side, but I also lived it. I saw him rise to fame because of his breakup with Britney, and the world vilified him. Do I blame him for taking advantage of this for his success - yeah, I do. And perhaps he's apologized now, but it's too late. He could have defended her and still been a star, but instead, he used her back as a stepping stool and kicked her once he got up. It isn't enjoyable and has forever changed how I think of him. If I'm being honest, though, Britney's story has changed how I think and feel about many people and things. I spend a lot of time questioning the state of the world we currently live in, and while there are a lot of things to worry about when it comes to attitudes and media and the cultures of cancelling and influencing, at least we don't see history repeating itself ont he same level when it comes to our sexualization and disrespect of young girls in the public spotlight. We don't live in a world where it's okay to do that anymore, at least not without fear of being cancelled. Maybe that is something to be happy about in a world with great unhappiness. I don't think you have to be a huge fan of Britney Spears to enjoy "The Woman in Me," and you don't have to be a big reader either, but I think for any of us who lived even a tiny part of her time in the spotlight, it is worth it. It may only get three generous stars for writing, but it's a five-star review for honesty and insight.
One of the greats, “Whiplash,” is what every filmmaker strives for. “Whiplash” was a short film, then became an indie feature. It ultimately became a box office success, bringing in ten times its original budget, winning 3 Oscars and numerous other awards such as BAFTAs and a Golden Globe.
We got a GOAT in the building! As we continue to build out our NFL property with Arik Armstead’s “Third and Long,” we made a trip to The Bay Area (which I believe we’ll be doing soon, lol). I had the pleasure of meeting one of Texas’s finest, Longview’s Trent Williams.
Almost every year, the “NFL’s Top Wide Receiver” title seems to be somewhat up in the air. Often, people may say it’s situational. If you are deemed the only option on your team, you may see all the targets, or if you are star WR in a stacked offense, your stats may take a hit because the ball is being shared around. A Wide Receiver’s consistency may also come into question. After they have a breakout year, can they sustain their level of play and continue to separate themselves from the rest.
The world shut down in early 2020 due to the initial COVID-19 pandemic; this caused people to watch more films and TV in far larger quantities than usual due to being in lockdown at home.
We are finally at a point in the telling of Netflix’s award-winning production “The Crown” that I remember experiencing in real life. The first four episodes, released on November 14, cover the last summer of Princess Diana’s life before her death in the early hours of August 31, 1997.
The Buffalo Bills have one of the most up-and-down seasons of any team in the NFL.
Que Christy Conzana in 2017 in China. This was the first time on the international stage that we saw Faker as a mortal.
This week, I’m diving into an impressive feature, The Imitation Game.
Two trips in two months, The Bay is starting to feel like another home for us at Tidal League.
Another great one we got for you guys this week. We got Iowa State legend Georges Niang in the building.
The 49ers pulled off one of the best trades we’ve seen over the past few seasons when they landed Chase Young.
I wrote in an earlier article that this is one of the most exciting times of the year for a League of Legends fan. Other than the ranked season restarting for some, this may be it.
Season 25 of Big Brother has ended, and my least favourite player of the season, Jag, was crowned the winner. As I have reflected on this blog each week, I've realized that it wasn't Jag (or any of the players) that I don't like. Twenty-three years in, I may have outgrown what was once my favourite reality competition series.
Abu Dhabi, December 12th, 2021: Both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton went into this finale tied with 369.5 points a piece.
Often referred to as the “Original” thriller, Rear Window was one of the earliest films of the thriller genre and helped define it.
Who is the best quarterback in the NFL? Last year, MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes stood alone above the rest, but is this title now up for debate? One thing is for sure, and that is there is no lack of talent at the QB position in the NFL.
I wrote about Worlds when we were in the original play-in stage. It’s been an incredible worlds, from North America’s #1 representative, NRG, making it to the Quarterfinals (I called it, you’re welcome) to EU getting bounced lmao and all the Civil Wars that we have had (They picked a bunch of match-ups after each stage and ended up picking a lot of regions facing each other in earlier stages). The dust has settled, and we are on to the final four.
Tyler Hansbrough is one a polarizing player. I remember, as a Duke fan, HATING HIM.
The 2023/2024 NBA season just tipped off, and to be honest, I haven’t felt this excited about the NBA since the Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championship.
Another week, another great Run Your Race Episode. We yet again welcome another one of Theo’s 2014 class to the podcast, and I don’t think this one disappoints.
A “Franchise Quarterback” is probably the most valued asset in the NFL, and we saw plenty of teams take a chance at the QB position in this year’s draft.
Man, what a Grand Prix in Mexico City! If you have paid attention to our old podcast, you’ll know that this track is one of my favourites just based on how it’s designed. When you’re hitting the final sector of the circuit, you’re surrounded by fans, and it feels like you’re going to drive into all of the fans. It’s quite an immersive experience.
This Swedish dramatic mini-series follows the story of the beginning and rise of Spotify, the world’s most popular music streaming service currently occupying 30 percent market share. “
Long have I dreamed about going to an F1 race in person. The grid is a sacred place to many and an incredible weekend experience.
What is the best word to describe the Buffalo Bills right now? Maybe inconsistent or disappointing?
Another week down and another episode with another great guest. I was a fan of Tim Hardaway Jr. from his days at Michigan with fellow Canadian Nik Stauskas. He has a recognizable name in the basketball world because his dad was one of the premier guards of the ’90s. Known for his “UTEP Step” and killer crossover, he made a name in the NBA, leading to his Basketball Hall of Fame Induction in 2022.
Caleb Williams and USC stood on the hardwood court on Thursday night for the HoopLA, an annual tipoff event in Los Angeles. Caleb Williams is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. His presence in the stadium was monumental at HoopLA.
This is my favourite time of the year. All my esports fans, specifically league fans, know it’s time for World 2023.
I will start this article by saying I know absolutely nothing about futbol, football or football on this side of the hemisphere soccer.
At this point of the NFL season, we generally grasp what teams are in the mix of making a playoff run and the ones that should already be looking forward to next year’s draft. Some of the big heavyweights coming into this year with all the hype included teams like the Dolphins, the Eagles, the 49ers and, of course, the Chief, but was anybody talking about the Detroit Lions?
Taylor Swift has been travelling all over North America (and soon on International stages) with her Eras Tour, a concept that the singer/songwriter and world-renowned performer developed shortly after the pandemic ended.
Well, it finally happened; King Cameron was sent packing (again) unanimously (again) only this time, as Julie Chen Moonves pointed out, there would be no revival, and off to jury he goes.
When Gareth Edwards pitched the idea for his original sci-fi epic The Creator, studios told him it would cost $300 million. Luckily, Edwards envisioned a moviemaking process, allowing it to be made for less than nine figures. Through smart and efficient allocations of resources, he and his team were able to make the globetrotting visual splendour of his dreams.
Two heavyweights squared off last Sunday night, and what many thought to be the 49ers’ toughest game up to this point of the season ended up being their largest victory. “America’s Team” was no match for the men in Red and Gold as the 9er faithful were treated to one of the best all-around performances we have seen from their team this year.
Another weekend down in the F1 2023 season, and it’s about time we officially crowned Max Verstappen the world champion for this year.
One of the final favourite houseguests remaining got evicted last night. Mecole would have been someone I would happily be friends with inside and outside of the house, and in further proof that production is only letting us see certain things, somehow was the one evicted last night and seen as the more significant threat.
Last night marked the final game of the Blue Jays 2023 season and the third time in as many years that the team has made it to the post-season, only to be swept in the wildcard matchup.
We have officially dropped our second season of “Sessions” with our Inked NBA team.
For any OG Tidal League Fan, Danny Green is a familiar name to them. Now you may know him from his time as a North Carolina Tar Heel,
Well, it was a pretty bad week in the Big Brother House. No Wednesday episode, no head of household, no veto comp, no typical live eviction. Even the head-to-head competition that Cameron and Jared were meant to do and the final comp that Cam did on his own were pretty straightforward and uninspiring.
I just returned from Orlando, Florida, with Justin Gatlin, the world’s most decorated sprinter. Collaborating with greatness is never taken for granted, and when I have the chance to be around an individual like Justin, I ensure it’s purposeful. Justin’s story is one of resilience and triumph, from his early success in winning the 100M Gold Medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens to dethroning Usain Bolt in 2017.
You would think that making it to a Super Bowl for the second time and winning in a matchup against your brother would bring you as much fame and adoration as possible. Maybe, but for Travis Kelce, what has put the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on the map is a potential romance with Taylor Swift.
As some of you know, we went to LA to do a recording of “Run Your Race.” This time, one of California’s very own, Stanley Johnson, joined the show. I can say that back in 2012 / 2013, I was big on watching hoop mixtapes to see who was up next on the circuit. Stanley Johnson is someone that I heard about for a long, long time. The “Stanimal” from Mater Dei would be the next great two-way wing in the league, with an NBA-ready body. He played for arguably the best AAU team of all time, the Oakland Soldiers.
No one in the world expected a different result after our first race in Bahrain this year. Red Bull Oracle Racing have finally been crowned the constructors’ champions. Max is also a podium away from locking up the Drivers Championship for the third consecutive year. If you guys are avid readers here, you know that I don’t like Max and Christian Horner, but you also know that I respect greatness and give flowers when they are due.
I'm a couple of days late on this post because, believe it or not, I only just had time to sit down and watch Thursday's double eviction episode.
After an exhilarating third-place finish in this summer’s FIBA World Cup--capped off by an oh-so-satisfying win over the Americans in the bronze medal game--Canada’s men’s basketball team is off to the Olympics for the first time since 2000.
We made an LA trip that you’ll hear about more in-depth in the upcoming weeks and newsletter (so make sure you subscribe).
Last week, September 11, 2023, during the Toronto International Film Festival, Spike Lee sat down to discuss his latest documentary, NYC EPICENTERS 9/11-2021½, precisely 22 years after the 9/11 attacks.
Oh how the mighty have fallen… not reallyWell, for the first time this year, Red Bull Oracle Racing has not won a Grand Prix. This ends a massive streak for the team as Max’s dominance (record as well) of 10 races in a row has finally finished.
What an insane week in the Big Brother house and let me tell you, I am not impressed by any of it.
We’ve always had this incredible show that is consistent, entertaining, and represents my hometown of Toronto! The show I am talking about is "Hip Hop Hoops".
Myles Turner is someone our network is quite familiar with; we’ve had Myles on multiple shows, whether on Inked NBA, aka Sessions, or one of our original shows, the Tidal League Podcast.
The preseason is over, 53-man rosters are set, and fantasy drafts are complete. For football fans, this past weekend was everything they have been waiting for as we were treated to a dramatic Week 1 full of surprises, upsets and nail-biters. What you expect to happen never seems to come true in week one, as some of the best teams from last year, like the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills, will all be starting the year 0 - 1!
Canada won its first-ever medal at the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup with a 127-118 overtime win over the U.S. in the bronze-medal game on Sunday.
In a world where the youth are always considered the future, the media makes it seem like we have no time to prove ourselves before we’re “past our prime.”
Brandon Gardner (BG) of the University of Southern California (USC) enhanced smiles in partnership with KEEN Los Angeles in the City of Montebello helped Tidal League finish the summer off with our last sponsorship on August 27th. Brandon, Mr. New York State Basketball is a true leader on and off the court.
The NFL has been on our radar for quite some time, something we always knew was important for our business as we grow. As with anything at Tidal League, we always look at our pillars of Sport, Culture, and Storytelling; finding the right partner was the most important aspect of this new venture for us.
Sponsored by H&M for this episode (not really), Patrick T. Cooper is back, and even though his look may not be super fresh for this episode (his words not mine), his take on today's topic really is. Fresh and refreshing.
Max Verstappen has officially created history, becoming the first driver to win ten races in a row. It is a historic feat that speaks to how dominant he is and gives credit to the team out of Milton Keynes. Red Bull has created an incredible car and paired it with an incredible talent, leading to one of the most lopsided F1 seasons of all time. Ironically, he took it away from a fellow residential constructor in Sebastian Vettel, who was also racing under the Red Bull flag. Kudos to Max, as he is clearly the best driver today.
This week's Big Brother post will simply be a love letter to Ciri Fields. Since 2006, I watched and cheered for this woman on reality competition shows.
The World Athletics Championships wrapped up this past weekend, and we saw our fair share of dramatic finishes and surprises. The sprinting events continued to be the most captivating in Budapest as the rivalry between US teammates Fred Kerley and Noah Lyles built up early anticipation for the 100m. Sha’Carri Richardson showed out on the women’s side, dominating in the 100m but falling short in the 200M to Shericka Jackson, who retained her 200M title.
Tidal League had the amazing opportunity to sponsor two clinics on August 14th and 19th. Trey Green of Xavier University and AJ Storr of the University of Wisconsin Madison. Both are leading in their creative space and conference on and off the court.
Last week Amazon Prime droppeddddddddd...sorry, I fell asleep there for a second.
Man, what a welcome back to the grid we had this week. Obviously, the summer break is tough for DIE HARD Formula 1 fans, and we are craving F1 content. Usually, what we are left with are quite a bit of random rumours of upcoming “empty seats” and which drivers will be signing to which team. Some of the hottest topics this break were Lewis Hamilton’s return to Mercedes, Guanyu Zhou’s return to Alfa Romeo, and what Red Bull would do with Sergio Perez. Nonetheless, we were treated to one of the best races we’ve seen in quite a while. I think the beautiful thing to start with on Zandvoort is just the banking of the track. Watching cars fly at high speeds around banking corners might be one of the most satisfying things you can watch in Formula 1.
Well, it doesn't happen often or successfully, but in only the third week of competition, the house came together for the biggest blindside I have seen in ages.

Recently our team watched the critically acclaimed and much-anticipated movie of the summer, “Oppenheimer,” directed by the legendary Christopher Nolan. What was hyped as the cinematic masterpiece of the summer left our team divided and showed a fun glimpse into each of our personalities when we broke down what we liked (or didn’t like) about this feature film.
Summer break is officially over, and you know what that means -We are back and racing on the grid. Let’s make one thing very clear; I don’t expect anything to change coming back.
One of my favourite movies, when I was a kid was the cult classic "Goonies," so much so that when I found myself on a road trip along the west coast of Oregon, I had to search for haystack rock and pay homage!
Oh, Big Brother, why do I let you reel me in with your promises of blindsides and crazy game moves, only to have the original plan followed at the last minute?
The latest entry into A24’s growing catalogue of horror movies that are actually good is the creepy teen paranormal adventure Talk To Me. This Danny and Michael Philippou directorial debut made some noise at Sundance earlier this year and was hyped up endlessly on Twitter as “the scariest movie of the last X years” leading up to its release.
Yes, you read that title right. Man, like Sharky, rolled through to the 6ix for the August long weekend, and boy, it was special. His energy and character are as genuine and special as you see and feel on screen. Amplifying his aura were his two brothers in commentary – Liban and Lyes. The SDS boys moved like Barca’s attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez through the streets of the city, flocked by fans of both Shark Nation and SDS wherever they set foot.
Our loyal audience and readers will know that I’m an avid / ambassador of esports. More specifically, I am a lover of League of Legends and its professional scene. I think the most beautiful thing is that you have five athletes (yes, I said it) all control their character and play towards a common goal.
It was not a comedy show about nothing.
Our fan favourites from previous seasons may have unleashed the BB Multiverse, but it is clear our houseguests are only interested in playing the same game.
I heard something earlier this week which really made me sit down and think - perhaps even with a noticeable amount of anxiety. As content creators, we can spend countless hours making a clip no longer than a minute, only for it to be forgotten after it's been scrolled over. If it's even watched in the first place.
This is the last of the NBA Las Vegas Summer League Series. This may not be the comedy show that Devonte Graham or a controversial episode like Bruce Brown, but this was one of Theo’s gems. During the COVID season, Jared Harper shared a New York Knicks uniform with Theo back in 2020-2021. The two instantly bonded and helped each other through a year filled with many DNPs and laughter.
Ever since I was a young child, I have loved music. I remember being 8 or 9 and purchasing two cassette tapes from a flea market; USA for Africa "We are the World" and Wham! "Make it Big."
Man, what a special week we had with one of our creative partners in Dayton, Ohio. If you guys haven’t been following our socials or mine, specifically, I’m talking about the Brown Ballers, aka India Rising. This team represented India and brought together a group of all players from the Indian diaspora. Representation has always mattered, and I think that’s important in every aspect. But even more important than representation or a “DNI” play, it really is about proving that anyone can do anything they want regardless of background or race. Growing up of Asian descent, I was always supposed to be a “model minority,” which means a doctor, an engineer, or an accountant. Whenever I said I wanted to be a DJ or anything in sports entertainment, people would look at me like I was crazy. Led by Gautam Kapur and Navin Ramharak, that’s the mission they are on. I spoke to Gautam quite early, and he was like, “The world better not think this is some DNI feel-good story. We’re here to compete.”
This past month at Tidal League, we had our most significant production to date; the filming of LeagueBiz Season 3 in Las Vegas during Summer League. It consisted of 1 prep day, four production days, 11 episodes, 15 cameras, 19 lights and 27 guests. LeagueBiz is, first and foremost, a round table talk show format series. One of the problems we faced with this format was creating a beautiful-looking environment for the talent to be in while being lit professionally and achieving our many different, desired angles for the project.
Last night marked the start of the silver anniversary for CBS's legendary reality tv competition, "Big Brother." It also marked the 25th time I have sat down to watch this addictive and highly entertaining show.
Disclaimer; We’ve already done a podcast with Devonte’ Graham last year during the offseason. You guys now might be wondering why are we doing a second one? His wifi was all jacked up, and we had to do justice to Devonte’s race. This Las Vegas NBA Summer League Run Your Race camp was a lot of fun. We got to witness Theo Pinson in his bag and display how talented he is as a creative partner here at Tidal League. Now when I tell you that he was funny all trip, this was the funniest podcast of all. The guys cracked open a Casamigos bottle and just had a great conversation. The public won’t get to witness some of it as we had to make some cuts. But damn, are you guys in for a treat. They talk about the contract Devonte’ signed and the hilarious three-point contest where he hit the side of the backboard. We’ve also had the pleasure of having his mom on one of our other podcasts before. Dewanna King had Devonte’ when she was 14 and raised him to be an exceptional human being, so a big shoutout to her. Devonte’ also was teammates with Donovan Mitchell at Brewster Academy. He was there because Appalachian State would not allow Devonte’ out of his original letter of intent. This one is light-hearted, funny and bound to have you in tears at one point (it had Theo there). Make sure you give it a listen.
Initially, I wasn't overly interested in the Barbie movie when I first heard about it last year. Even after my favourite Canadian Ryan was cast as Ken, and some of the fab neon fashion photo stills were leaked, even Simu Liu being cast as Ken wasn't enough to make me pay too much attention.
This was the last week before summer break for the 2023 F1 season. What better place was there than Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps? Spa is one of the most legendary circuits due to its length, speed, elevation, and propensity to rain. Due to the nature of the track, it’s considered a pretty dangerous track to race at (we’ve also had some deaths on this course).
It was the comeback of all comebacks yesterday when our Canadian National team came from behind to beat the Republic of Ireland in their first world cup appearance.
As an individual that watched a lot of TV and would consider themselves cultured of the late 90s and early 2000s, this movie is a must-watch if you were a fan of the series “Transformers: Beast Wars.” I grew up as a massive fan of Cheetor, Rat Trap and Depth Charge. Now I know we see Cheetor even though he played a minor role, but NO RAT TRAP? I think everyone can agree that Rat Trap was the HOMIE and carried a lot of the humour and comedy of the TV Show. Here’s to hoping there is a sequel so we can have some of the most crucial characters we grew up with join the series.
