Tyler Hansbrough is one a polarizing player. I remember, as a Duke fan, HATING HIM. He was such a tough-nosed player that he continued to get buckets and make life hard on our interior defence. If you did not box him out, he was getting 2 points or disrupting your flow.
Well, that’s what greatness looked like from 2005-2009. Well, I met him in person when we filmed this episode of Run Your Race. I learned (I think I tried to erase it from my mind) that THans didn’t lose a single game in Cameron for his entire career; that means a whole class of Duke players never beat North Carolina on their home floor; that’s kind of crazy.
Tyler obviously holds some incredible records like the ACC scoring record, North Carolina’s all-time scoring record and many others. He talks about his mindset on how he approached the game and how it got him there. We also hear about the moment he broke the scoring record and what that was like for him. What’s crazy is that he almost committed to becoming a Florida Gator because of their nightlife. LMAO!
As for the NBA side, we talk about young Paul George and why Roy Hibbert was so dominant in the early 2010s. He also shows some serious love for Toronto as being the best city he’s ever lived in. Last but not least, we talked about Derrick Rose and how good he was during LeBron’s peak!
