The 49ers pulled off one of the best trades we’ve seen over the past few seasons when they landed Chase Young. If this team wasn’t stacked enough, adding 2020’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and 2nd overall pick has taken them to another level. Chase Young had an immediate impact in his first game, looked explosive off the edge, and combined for a sack with his former college teammate Nick Bosa.
Young and Bosa’s chemistry was a big topic of discussion going into this matchup, and they did not disappoint. Teammate
Arik Armstead has this to say about the duo on the “Third and Long” podcast…
“He (Chase Young) and Nick (Bosa) have some chemistry. They played together in college, and it reminds me of when I used to play with my former college teammate DeForest Buckner…”
- Arik Armstead
We all know Armstead and Buckner’s impact on this team, so it will be exciting to see how Bosa and Young’s chemistry develops as the year goes on.
After losing three straight, the 49ers were looking for some answers, but after last week’s blowout win, they look like the Super Bowl contenders dominating opponents through the first five weeks of the season. The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t stand a chance, and I expect this isn’t the last blowout we will see from the 49ers this year.
