Trent Williams joins Arik Armstead on "Third and Long" (1 minute read)

Mario, Princess Peach go on a new adventure in the animated film, Super Mario Brothers

We got a GOAT in the building! As we continue to build out our NFL property with Arik Armstead’s “Third and Long,” we made a trip to The Bay Area (which I believe we’ll be doing soon, lol). I had the pleasure of meeting one of Texas’s finest, Longview’s Trent Williams. I haven’t watched or followed the NFL religiously or consistently for the last 13-15 years, so I’m a little out of touch. But Trent Williams has been around for a decade and SOME, and he’s been someone who has trailblazed/seen as a vanguard at his position. From what I’ve seen and researched, many of the younger players say he’s really pushed the game forward, and they look at Trent as a standard or OG.

His play and what he’s done on the field come in a far second compared to what I learned in this interview. Trent is a cancer survivor playing at the highest level in professional sports. He had sarcoma diagnosed years back when he played for the Washington Commanders (formerly named the RedSkins). The crazy thing is that they found the lump in his scalp a year previous and told him it was something he didn’t have to worry about. He recalls the night he found out he was diagnosed with cancer and told to get his affairs in order. It was challenging to listen to, but at the same time, because he’s here today, it was inspiring to listen to.

We also had a chance to meet Trent’s daughter (who joined us midway through the podcast). We saw him as a parent, athlete and human in this podcast! Hope you guys tap into the link below and give it a listen. This is my favourite to date!
