Q3 is in the books, and as I reflect on such a busy quarter at Tidal League, I wanted to highlight (3) episodes that really stuck with me in different ways.

I find that when you get in the trenches, and you're moving at light speed, it becomes easy to lose perspective, and you can start to take things for granted. Quarterly resets allow me to reflect on what we are building and remind me that what we do is truly amazing. We are at the center of storytelling in multiple spaces, and the episodes that I am going to be speaking about are a true testament to the diversity of our content. Every week, we have such strong output across the network with multiple shows releasing weekly episodes; as we have grown, I prioritize the time to listen or watch our content every week; even if I don't have time to finish the entire episode, I make the time to get through most of it. It allows me to understand our content and connect with our creators at a deeper level, especially as I consume a lot of content across the industry that's outside of Tidal League to stay up to date with trends and breakthrough content opportunities.

Over this last quarter we released countless hours of programming and had millions of people watch content across the network and these (3) episodes below are incredible stories that are relatable and riveting. They span the NBA, Olympics, and artistry with people who have climbed to the top in those respective fields.

Starting with "Ready Set Go," hosted by Justin Gatlin and Rodney Green, this show is the leader in track and field, and it truly represents the essence of competition. This year, I have been extremely privileged to attend multiple world-class elite track and field meet and further had the ability to check off a bucket list item when I attended the Olympics in Paris and watched the Men's 100M dash live. Sitting in that stadium with Justin Gatlin, the last man to win the 100M for the USA, and watching his excitement from a different perspective as we witnessed Noah Lyles reclaim the title for the USA was truly special. In this episode, Justin walks us through the Olympic moment as he lined up in 3 separate Olympic 100M finals from Athens to London to Rio. Listening to him paint the picture so vividly is impressive storytelling, and it really helps all of us understand, at some level, the weight of that moment for these athletes.

"Run Your Race" is the ultimate NBA storytime podcast led by Theo Pinson and AJ Richardson. This podcast really shows that irrespective of career, all of our paths are different, and although sometimes unorthodox, you can get to your destination with relentless determination and dedication. "Run Your Race" also shows us the harsh realities of professional sports and why playing basketball at the highest level for one of the most popular sports leagues in the world can be a blessing and a curse. This is truly shown with Perry Jones, a former NBA player who finally opens up about what he was personally dealing with during his NBA career. As fans, we watch the game and see the box score, and it's extremely easy to critique these athletes from our couches or keyboards, but yes, they are human, and all have to deal with life. Perry's story is extremely touching, from his near-death experience to driving out of state to be there for his cousin, who was extremely sick and eventually passed away. It is heartfelt and extremely sad. At the moment, you don't realize what that athlete is going through, but hearing it firsthand shows Perry's resilience and resolve, and it is simply amazing.

"Black Radio Backstage" with Robert Glasper and Jahi Sundance featuring All-American Kareem Grimes. Talking about the path and journey of success, this episode showed the grit and grind of Kareem Grimes and how he seized the moment when it mattered the most, regardless of the number of times he came up short. A story of mentorship and guidance from those around him and those that he looked up to. Kareem's story is far from finished, but listening to this episode is truly inspiring. Most of us are familiar with the show "ER," and Kareem talks about the time he auditioned for the show. At the moment, he was struggling with his lines and kept fumbling, but as he stepped away for a minute, this guy said to him, "Yo man, you wanna play some basketball?" "Yo dude, you're here, relax, you're already here, you already got the job," so he goes to the back and starts playing basketball. That guy was George Clooney, and they played a game of "21". Hearing that insight from George Clooney gave him the confidence to go back in and deliver his audition. This speaks to sometimes the right people fall into your time at the right place, and it's up to you to seize that moment.

If you haven't watched the shows mentioned above or are new to Tidal League, I highly encourage you to check them out and let us know what you think. We are extremely proud of what we get to do, and writing this is a great reminder for me to go back and reflect on the work we do daily here at Tidal League, I hope you enjoy.
