The 2023 NBA playoffs have already been a whirlwind with both upsets and dramatic storylines. Once again Stephen Curry showed why he is one of the best players to ever dribble a basketball. The young western conference, Sacramento Kings did all they could but in the end Steph Curry and his Golden State Warriors got the last laugh. “LIGHT THE BEAM!”
I don’t know about you, but he has officially cracked my top 3 greatest players of all-time, joining the likes of Michael Jordan and Lebron James. Like Steve Kerr said “We take for granted what he’s done in the league over the past 10 years…” Curry’s prowess on the basketball court can only be expected and this series against Lebron and the Los Angeles Lakers will be another test for this greatest shooter to ever play the sport.
These other NBA series have had their own thrills. Playoff Jimmy Butler may very well be the most dangerous player in the playoffs but the Heat have their work cut out for them in this series against this hungry Knicks team. Not sure if you heard our last episode of “Hoop Ties” but our featured guest, Shaun Geddes said “Jalen Brunson is the best point guard in the conference.” He very well might be right as Brunson has given hope to that enthusiastic New York fanbase.
Like many heroes that emerge come playoffs we have seen glimpses of MVP James Harden and the continued dominance of Joel Embiid. After walking all over the Nets, I believe whatever team survives this Sixers vs. Celtics series will be in the NBA finals.
Finally, if you weren’t already scared of the Nuggets you should be. The tandem of Jokic and Murray have been putting on a clinic and we will have to see if this formidable Suns team can put the pieces back together and get back on track. The depth of the Suns bench has been a constant discussion throughout the regular season. Will it be Book, Durant or an unlikely hero that brings this team back into the fold?
The drama this year continues and I can’t wait to see what these future games have in store!
