I know we haven't written about F1 in quite a bit, so we're coming back no different than the Chinese Grand Prix! It's been five years since we've been back on track, and that, as always, is exciting. 2019 was the last race, and the winner was Lewis Hamilton… that shows you how long ago that was…. And it's safe to say Lewis Hamilton will not be winning this weekend 💀.
I think the most exciting thing is to see Red Bull compete with Ferrari on this circuit. With the influx of the new rules and the cars being heavier with bigger tires, it should be interesting to see how cars perform. McLaren has already come out and said it's all about damage limitation for them at this race. I believe Mercedes will have a tough race as well, but we'll have to wait to find out.
The biggest storyline going into the race will surely be Guanyu Zhou racing on his home soil for the first time. It will be a surreal moment for him and all his country, but not because it's his first time… it's the first time an F1 Chinese driver has ever raced on the circuit. It represents a lot more to the community than most think, and as a fellow descendant of Chinese heritage, I couldn't be more excited and proud of the moment. Now… I expect him to finish in the bottom five, lol, cause Stake F1 is poo, but what can you do. Zhou is going to create history, and that itself will be monumental in motorsport this weekend.
All in all, I'm excited for the Chinese GP. It should be a dandy.
